Help with Asus CG, won't start

sometimes motherboard won't post, other times it will give me a chance to get into bios, and ask me if i would like to start windows/start repair when i push yes, it will load a little, then nothing shows up on my screen, and and it gives me a no signal box

i have an asus cg series, has intel core 2 quad processor, Q8300.
also my northside bridge is getting very hot right at start up, while my south is not
