1 x 4GB module or 2 x 2GB modules

Hi everyone,

I´m asking this question to learn if there is any andvantage or disadvantage BESIDE eventually later upgrade (space) issues.
I´m planning to buy http://www.villman.com/Product-Detail/Corsair_4GBDDR3

I am located in the Philippines so the product range is somewhat limited here....

Any help and suggestions are very welcome

Assuming your MOBO is Dual Channel the 2X2GB is a better choice because the CPU can process 2 sticks 'simultaneously', next upgrading 1X4GB leaves you with the option of adding (1) one more 1X4GB. The memory needs to be Matched in the form of kits, meaning purchasing 4 X 1X4GB probably will NOT work properly. Even off the same assembly line each stick is tested and placed into 'bins' based upon subtle characteristic changes. Maybe someday manufacturing and the composition will be PERFECT it isn't now.

ok so 2x2GB or maybe 2x4GB if I got the cash ;-)
and if I have 2 modules I have to place them in the second and fourth slot right?!

On most Dual Channel MOBO's that's correct, see the manual for DDR3 DIMM placement. Prior to the Japan earthquake the prices were going down.
