What's the difference between cingular wireless and Cingular?
I actually have an att sim but my phone said Cingular.
Later that day it said Cingular wireless.
Am I wrong to think that I had the best reception on "Cingular"?(It now says
att wireless)
Thanks
an att user with a great plan forever seeking better reception

Don't worry what it says on your screen if it's Cingular, AT&T, or a
derivative of the two.

Since it could be different in your area, don't assume that what's going
on here is the same as what's going on there.

In the greater Orlando, Florida area there are several displays you may
see on the screen, including "Cingular", "Cingular Wireless", "AT&T
Wireless", and "AT&T/Cingular". What is displayed depends on where you
use your phone most, and what phone model you have. If you use your
phone most in the west side of Orlando, your phone will display
"Cingular" and "Cingular Wireless". However, that may vary by phone. I
have several phones, including a Blackberry 7280, Motorola V505, LG
L1150, and a Nokia 6340i (unlocked).

Here is how my phones display:

Motorola V505: "Cingular" = 310-380 = former AT&T Wireless network
"Cingular Wireless" = 310-410 = Current Cingular network
Blackberry 7280:"Cingular" = 310-380 = former AT&T Wireless network
"Cingular Wireless" = 310-410 = Current Cingular network
LG L1150: "Cingular" = 310-380 = former AT&T Wireless network
"Cingular" = 310-410 = Current Cingular network
Nokia 6340i: "Cingular" = 310-380 = former AT&T Wireless network
"Cingular" = 310-410 = Current Cingular network

However, there are users that live in the East Orlando area who see
"AT&T/Cingular" AND ("Cingular" OR "Cingular Wireless").

But don't worry as long as it's a derivative of the two.
