What cpu to use for mulitple game clients

I want to run multiple gaming clients. I want to run 4 to 9 clients at one time(EVE Online).

I can run 9 but i have to have the graphics settings on low. Is there something i could do in order to 4 or even 9 clients with high graphics. Money is no problem.

I think i need a new system or a quad core cpu. I just do know what to get.

System specs

GPU: 2x Nvidia 8800 gtx
Cpu: Intel Core 2 duo E8400 3.00

More about what mulitple game clients
  1. I would recommend getting an I7 with 6Gb of ram, it's either your dual core processor or lack of ram currently holding you back.
  2. +1^,getting a quad core CPU with 6GB(or 4GB)RAM will definitely give you a good boost.
  3. Thanks. The game i want to run is called EVE Online. I was looking in getting the i7 970 six core processor and 3x nVidia gtx 460 gpus.

I am using 3 monitors now. I hope that i would be able to use all 6 ports for monitors if that is possible.
  4. you won't need a hexa core CPU for EVE online, go with i7 930(or 950 since its got a price drop) and save some cash.
  5. I am sorry. I must have been have asleep when posted my question. It should have said the following below:

Trying to run game accounts at once with high settings or at least 30 fps on low setttings. Is that possible.

I already have 8 gigs of ram. ( Reference my current system specs above) I run 9 accounts at one time and that only takes up 6 gigs of ram. But i have to put all settings on low, that at best gives me 6 to 13 fps.

I was told that I could assign one account to each core. With six core I could run 2 acconts on each core. Do you think that is possible and if so would i be able to run all accounts on high settings. Or at the very least, get 30 fps on low settings?

The system I am looking into gettings is:

Tri SLI GTX 470 (3x cards)
    Asus Rampage 3 mobo
    i7 980 X Extreme Edition
    12 gig ram DDR3 1600
5 monitors (3 on L Shaped table, 2 wall mounted above)
    2x 19inch, 2x 22inch, 1x 24inch

"NOTE" I know will not be able to run more than 2 screens in SLI. So i will not be using SLI when playing EVE Online.

    or look at this

Case(Antec DF-85 Full Tower Gaming Case - Black)
Case Lighting(Liquid Neon Thunder Pattern Light - Red)
    iBUYPOWER Labs - Noise Reduction(None)
    iBUYPOWER Labs - Internal Expansion(None)

The reason I was told to use a 6 core is because I am running 9 accounts at once.

Right now I have a dual core and 2 8800 gtx (not in sli when playing eve online) with 8 gigs of ram. The 9 accounts only take up 6 gigs.

On low settings I only get 6 to 13 FPS.

Was told i could assign an account to each core of the cpu and that would allow me run on high settings or at least give me more FPS with low settings.

I Got the cash, I just need to know what to build.
  7. OK then, the system you mentioned in the last 2 posts looks good, however instead of 3 GTX 470s go with 2 of them(or 2 GTX 460s if you need something cooler and quieter) because 3-Way SLI doesn't scale very well compared to 2-way,other specs look fine

Okay, went ahead and got the system and it seems to work fine. A friend of mine made a program that assigns each eve online game client to a specific thread of the cpu. It has 6 cores and 12 threads.

Before my cpu would run at 100 percent (intel core 2 duo Dual core 3.0 E8400) Now with the 17 980x exteme it only runs at a mere 12 percent.

I run 3 cards (not in sli) because want to hook up 5 monitors. But i am still getting the same FPS that i got with my 8800 gtx. (10 to 15 fps with all settngs on low)

Now i run all settings on high and I still get 10 to 15 fps but it does not look like 10 to15 fps. It looks more like 30.

Not sure how I can change that to get more fps.
  9. Use GPU-Z to monitor your graphics cards usage. I'm guessing your issue lies there.
  10. (Edit, I should have read the entire thread properly...)

I would love to see a Phenom X6... you would save quite a bit of money.

I have a feeling you are doing some serious botting... (not legal in eve online :P) But what do I know, I never played it.
