Hello,

I currently don't have a dvd/cd drive on my homebuilt pc - the way I have installed games in the past is to use a dvd drive on my imac and then transfer all the program data from there to my pc using a external hard drive (slow-yes , but works fine).

However I am unsure of how to do this with a game that requires a second disk for completion of installation , when the "insert disk 2" prompt appears could I "auto run" the data from disk 2 or should I insert another external hard drive with the relevant disk 2 data and hope that it would recognize data from a hard drive as well as an optical disk.

Thanks for your help :)

I dont know how you are attempting to do this, but this is how it should be done;

1) Download and install disk cloning software that allows you to mount .ISO.
(For Windows users, I highly recommend Magic Disk available @ http://majorgeeks.com/MagicDisc_d6761.html

2) Use cloning software to create a .iso image of the disk
(In Magic Disk, Right click the SysTray icon and select "Make CD/DVD Image)

3) Mount the disk
(In magic disk, right click the SysTray icon and select "Virtual CD / DVD ROM -> Mount" then select your .ISO

4) In you case, once the game is asking for disk two, right click the magic disk icon and select "Mount to Virtual CD/DVD -> Mount" and select the .ISO for disk 2

Magic Disk is a Windows Application. I am not sure exactly which app is best to do this on a mac, but they are out there.
Here is a good article on the subject. http://lifehacker.com/248238/create-and-use-virtual-disk-images-on-your-mac
