Why cant I get 1920 x 1080 on my 9800gt?

I am running Win 7, 6 gbram, Intel core 2 duo and 9800gt with a Samsung 24" widescreen. I was getting 1920 x 1080 but now the max resolution seems to be limited to 1600 x 1200. Any solutions?

In Win 7:

Control Panel > Display > adjust screen resolution > advanced settings > monitor Tab > uncheck box "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display"

I have experienced this with all versions of windows many times over the years. Completely capable monitors and TVs are not recognized for their available resolutions. Unchecking this box allows you to chose any resolution you want, thus bypassing windows misunderstanding of your display.
