It used to be that my Taskbar apps grouped together, and the checkbox in my
"Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" Control Panel option is indeed checked.
Yet, all of a sudden, my apps are not grouping at all! Just appearing to
the right on the Taskbar.
Any suggestions on how the option was overridden?

Have you overfilled the taskbar with running task buttons yet? The grouping
won't occur until then.

Taksbar has 5 items, although the Notification Area (far right) has 17
items, many of which are auto-hidden.
I have had many more than 5 items on the Taskbar before and the grouping
feature has always worked. Actually, I didn;t even realize it was a setting
until I started looking into the Control Panel options.

Peter, open up many windows. Keep going until the taskbar is full. Then
open a few more duplicating some of the programs already displayed.
Example: Open up 5 or more IE windows, 5 notepad or more windows and 5
instances of Windows Explorer. Grouping should kick in. It does sometimes
break but be sure it is broken before trying to fix.

That's good news, Peter. Thanks for taking the time to post your results.
