i have a pendrive of transcend of 4 gb. i m having a probm with it.although it gets detected but while trying to open d pendrive..it shows an error message...insert disk into drive.

Right click on Computer -> select Manage -> select Disk Management in the left pane

Do you see your flash drive?

If no, there is a very good chance it is dead.

If yes, delete the volume and create a new one. or maybe there isn't one and you need to right click and select New simple volume.

I have had some luck reviving broken flash drives using manufacturer utilities such as the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool ("HPUSBFW.exe") or the James Format Tool.
