Also What extras do I need to get such as fan controller, cooling etc. Also I am not too good at motherboards so any recommendations on what to get would be met with happiness.

The X6s are a terrible choice for gaming. You'd do much, much better with an i7 build with that budget.

CPU/PSU: i7-930 and Cosair 850W Modular 80+ Silver $415 afer rebate
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R $210
RAM: G.Skill Trident 3x2 GB 2000 mhz CAS Latency 9 $190
GPU: HD 5970 $700
SSD: Intel X25-M 80 GB $200 (or leave it out)
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 TB $80
Case: HAF 922 $90
Optical: Cheap SATA DVD burner $21
HSF: Noctua NH-D14 $90
Monitor: 3x Asus 23" 1080p $520 after rebate

Total: $2,516
