Open a command prompt window and type chkdsk X: /r (where X: is replaced with the letter of the bad drive)

Let it run a surface scan and recover any bad secors.

Backup the data on this hard drive. If the dalayed write problem makes this undoable, try disableing disk caching
to do this: right click on Computer -> select Manage -> select Device Manager on the left pane -> drop down Disk Drives -> Right click on the bad disk and select Properties -> Change to the Policy tab -> Remove the radial check for Enable Disk Caching.

If all else fails try Redo Backup. It can be downloaded @ http://sourceforge.net/projects/redobackup/?source=directory

Now that your data is safe, lets see whats going on with the drive.
    Download SeaTools @ http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/
Run SeaTools disk diagnostics and see what it has to say on the matter.
