APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: This week BUDGET RANGE: $800 Total, preferably lower

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Mostly AutoCAD, MathCAD, MATLAB and Abaqus. Very CPU intensive I think... Also some very light gaming

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Monitor, Speaker, OS (I have a keyboard and mouse too, but I think I'm going to replace it. Not really needed though)

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com or amazon.com COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA

PARTS PREFERENCES: I'd really like to use the i5-750 Intel. But... with the budget, it seems hard...

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I'd also like to try to run the pcsx2 but definitely not worth buying a desktop specifically for that. A decent graphic card will do. It doesn't have to be really good. I survived with a GeForce 8400 GS on my laptop so anything better than that would suffice. :D Probably need lots of RAM and preferably a good PSU so that I can re-use it if I decide to upgrade in like 3 or 4 years time.

I have a preliminary build, but I'm not sure if they match... If anyone care to look over it?

Solution
I'd switch the board for a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 for only $8 more (after rebate and promo code). The H55 chipset is meant to be used with the i3/i5 dual cores and isn't that great otherwise.

I'd also get a smaller PSU. 650W is enough for two 5770s, and since you don't want to Crossfire, you don't need that much. I'd look for a decent 400-550W unit from Antec, Corsair, Silverstone or SeaSonic. Like this 430W Antec in a combo with the case.

well long as it's light gaming here's a build that'll work.
