Core i3 or AMD Athlon II x4

Hello.
I'll be buying me a new PC soon and I was wondering which one of these 2 CPU's is better for gaming.
Intel i3 530 or AMD Athlon II x4 630.
I'm not a hardcore gamer or something I just want a PC that will run smoothly the most of MMORPG/RPG/FPS games that will be coming to the market in the next 1-2 years or so.If you have better suggestions even for the whole system please share. (My budget is around 700-800 $).

Phenom II x2

Its better then the athlon II x4 for games and there is a good chance you can unlock it to an x4
