Bad CPU?

If the CPU is bad, will it prevent all power from coming into the system? There is no LED activity on the mobo and the hard drives do not spin up when the PSU is turned on. The PSI does not respond to the power switch on teh system case front.

Could be. Could be psu, could be assembly error.

Find the sticky post, go through the steps, report back if you don't find the problem, and include your sys specs if you do.

It is very unlikely you have a bad CPU. Much more likely is a bad power supply or a bad motherboard. From what you are describing it sounds power supply related to me.
