Adding a VGA Connection

Forum CPU & Components : Other Components Adding a VGA Connection

Hello,
I have a Gigabyte GA-EG45M-UD2H mobo and the back panel has threemonitor connections (D-Sub,DVI-D and HDMI). I am using a Samsung Syncmaster 2494SW (digital) monitor connected to the DVI-D port.
I am trying to connect a second monitor (tv) to the D-sub port using a 15-pin VGA adaptor on one end a rca plugs (red, white and yellow) on the other. The rca plugs are plugged into video 1 connections on the tv.
I get no picture (yes, I have changed the tv setting to vid-1 and have also tried the video rca plug (yellow) in Vid 2 and Vid 3). When I look at monitors in the device manager only the Sansung shows leading me to believe that I have not enabled the D-sub port. I'm pretty sure I did do something in BIOS to activite the port.
Any suggestions? The adaptor does have an S-Video adapter but the tv does not. THe TV is not flat screen, just a plain and simpleSony Triniton. Thanks for any possible support!!

Does the Intel G45 onboard GPU (Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD) support TV out directly through the VGA port? If it doesn't (it's what I'm suspecting), you won't be able to get it to work properly with that "... 15-pin VGA adapter on one end and RCA plugs (red, white and yellow) on the other ..." device/cable that you mentioned.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've reviewed Intel's site and will study in detail their suggestions. My solution might be as simple as trying to figure out how to change display settings.
