DDR3 1066 vz 1333 Mhz?

Hi all,

Want to upgrade my laptop's DDR3 memory from current 4GB (2x2GB) to 8GB (2x4Gb).
Laptop is: HP G62-228CA Notebook PC - AMD Athlon II Dual-Core P320 2.1GHz, 4GB DDR3

DDR 4GB memory choices are:

1) Centon R1333SO4096 4GB Memory - SODIMM, DDR3 1333MHz, PC3-10600
2) PNY Optima MN4096SD3-1066 Laptop Memory Module - 4GB, PC3-8500, DDR3 1066MHz

Choice #1 (1333Mhz) seems faster, but can I use it in place of Choice #2 (1066MHz)?

Any suggestions/recomendations?

Thanks!

  1. You need to verify that the intended memory will actually work with your system. Laptops/notebooks can be VERY picky regarding the memory they will work with. I suggest you use the configuration/selection tools of Crucial or Kingston and then use that information to find the best value/bargain for your system.

Going generic with a laptop can result in incompatibilities and exchanges.

    Good luck!
  2. Thanks. I'm new to this, but which "configuration/selection tools of Crucial or Kingston" tools are you referring to?
  3. Go here and Search by Manufacturer....

    http://www.kingston.com/

Crucial will have something similar. Good luck!
  4. You really won't notice the difference with either one of those speeds. Like COLGeek said though, look it up.
