First time build, 1500 budget

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: July BUDGET RANGE: 1500ish After Rebates

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: software development, playing with various OS's (vm's), video editing

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: (keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS)

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: USA

PARTS PREFERENCES: Intel

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Maybe

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080, 1920x1200

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I would like a quiet PC. Like it to last awhile and easy to update/upgrade from.

That seems fine. The PSU is likely overkill, as you have no apparent use for crossfire. A 5850 is also massive overkill, since you have not listed gaming.

You could get some faster RAM if you want (quicker timings)

You should switch to a 500gb platter HD. Spinpoint F3 or 7200.12 500gb or 1tb drives are fine.

A HAF 922 case is perfectly fine. Cheaper and just as good if not better.

The TX line is also sufficient, no need for the HX PSU line.

Also, does anything you have utilize CUDA or Open Gl? If so you're gonna want Nvidia. A 9800gtx+ is a good budget choice.

Yer definately up the ram if you have no use for gaming, probably better int he long run as well
