Extrenal hard drive for gaming?

Hi

I have recently downloaded several games onto my laptop and I'm running out of space. I was wondering if i could buy an external hard drive to keep the games on so there is more space on my hard drive. if this is possible what brand should i go with? I was thinking either 250GB or 500GB for size.

It's possible, if you're willing to reinstall the games, but you'll also take a bit of a performance hit.

Might be a better idea to just figure out what games you play on a regular basis, and get rid of those that you might only play once in a while. You can also move documents and non-essential things over to the external drive to free up a little more room.

Would it make a difference if I got one with an eSATA connection instead of USB?

That would certainly help, but ultimately external is always slower. The only real question is how large the difference is.
