Hello Toms need help picking a Cpu and Mobo combo Light to mid gaming, PowerPoint, photoshop, internet. Just finished a AMD 1055t build, Building a second computer. Have $450 for CPU and Motherboard. Planning to OC. Here is what I have...

Choices....
Intel Core i7 860 Processor 2.80 GHz 8 MB LGA1156 CPU I7-860BOX

Phenom II X4 965 Black AM3 3.4Ghz 512KB 45NM 125W 4000MHZ

Intel version mobo Something equal to M4A89GTD Pro (I have it and like the a.i. tweaker overclock utility)

If you do go amd, the 965 is a factory overclocked 955 and since your overclocking anyways its a waste of money.

You will have to increase your budget to get an X58 mobo and the i7-930. Best mobos come from ASUS, Gigabyte. There are also some good mobos coming from MSI.
