So I have £650-700 to spend on a rig that I'll like to build. Just need some quality advice on the parts I've chosen and any recommendations. Im not that into overclocking parts yet and need a rig that can handle moderate gaming i.e Bioshock 2, Red Dead Redemption etc aswell as others.

I am overbudget at the moment and would like to stick as close to the budget above. I'm quite new to this and this is what i have in mind

Asus P7P55D PRO approx £130-£140
XFX 5770 £150
Intel Core i5 750 £160
Corsair 4GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Memory Kit £115 (unsure about this)
Corsair H50 Water Cooler £60
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit £80
The HDD is troubling as I dont know which one to get. I dont need 2TB, i need one with decent capacity (500GB) with decent rpm
Antec Nine Hundred Two £80
I dont know what PSU I should have with this build 500W? from a good quality company

As you can see I'm already overbudget and I have to buy the other things.
Where can i cut costs and another question is that if i were to go with a

p45 build with core 2 quad processors and asus p5q deluxe mobo with the graphics card above will i be restricting the graphics card ability? (this build is much cheaper for me) would you recommend a p45 build?

I know this is a long question, but I will much appreciate any input ?

thanks

Where at you going to be buying this from?

This motherboard is at a very good price atm: MSI P55-GD65 £102 As far as I'm aware it has all the major features that the Asus board does, and is just as high quality - if not more so and fantastically cheap, it's usually £20 more expensive than that.

That RAM is far too overpriced, you should go for either of these sets:
G-Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 Ripjaw Memory Kit CL7(7-8-7-24) 1.65V £100
OR
Crucial 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz/PC3-10600 Ballistix Memory Kit CL7 (7-7-7-24) 1.65V £90

The HDD should be either be the Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB or the Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB ~£35.

If you're just power one 5770, then this will be fine for it: Be Quiet 530W Pure Power £49 There's a chance it could do two.

£150 for a 5770 is paying through the nose, get one closer to £130: HIS HD 5770 1GB £134

You might also have to consider getting more of a budget case, such as the Antec 300. That would be a 40 odd quid saving.

What resolution will you be gaming at?

If you aren't even sure if you will overclocking then the Corsair H50 is a bad choice, as there are aircoolers that beat it and should probably be looking at something below £40 with a budget stretch this much.

I would not recommend a P45 build, personally I think that AMD is the better option as you will be getting more modern components, and probably a more futureproof and upgradeable build. It will be cheaper than a LGA 1156 build and likely faster in gaming than an old socket 775 build. Altho a 5770 shouldn't be held back too much by one of those older processors, but if you don't mind some of the downsides I've mentioned then go ahead.
