The Gigabyte looks nice compared to the vanilla ASUS P8P67, but costs a little more.

Does anyone know anything about the phases of each board and which one is better in that area?

I know nothing about "phases", but a user on here said something about wanting 12+2 phases or something ideally for
overclocking ... something I don't plan on doing really.

Another mainboard comparison thread with two mismatched boards? C'mon now...

These are comparable:
ASRock P67 Extreme4
ASUS P8P67 Evo/Pro (which NewEgg doesn't list?)
Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4
MSI P67A-GD53 (GD55 would be slightly better comparison)

Once you get about the same features, it simply boils down to brand name. Some will shout ASUS to the heavens, while others swear by MSI or Gigabyte. I personally recommend ASRock. They are all about the same quality. They will all overclock about the same, despite theoretical differences in power phases. My ASRock P67 Pro3 has 8+2 phases and overclocks my 2500K to 4.8GHz just fine.

I have a UD4 and I am very happy with it. One thing to know about the Gigabyte boards is they still use a standard BIOS GUI not the new UFEI like the other boards.
