I am running AMD and ddr3 memory....A discussion has arose concerning 3dmark 06 scores.....I believe my memory is DDR31600 in one portion of the 3dmark score there is a section that displays memory.. It shows 2 --2gig sticks at @533 mhz.......
One person says that is OK for DDR31600 and another says that I am running ddr3 1066

the idea is 533 x 3 = 1600 or
533 x 2= 1066............................AMD HAS DUAL CHANNEL MEMORY AND intel supports triple....so my question is my memory 1066 or 1600...so who is correct...I am clueless

Solution
DDR = Double Data Rate so 533x2 is 1066.

Think of dual channel and tri-channel like a RAID 0 (striping) the throughput is increased, but the frequency of each invidual ram is still 1066.

In other words, don't confuse the frequency (cycles/second) the chip runs at to bandwidth (bits/second), though the two are related.

Thanks for the info.
I just purchased some new ddr3 1600 and ran 3dmark 06 and it shows up as 2 two gig sticks @ 533 and then 2 two gig sticks at 667.. I was told that the default is 1333.. so thanks for your help in this matter..
