What do you recommend for AMD CPU?

guys im using M/B CROSSHAIR II with CPU AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+

which is the best CPU for this M/B ??

the new Phenom IIX6 1090T(HDT90ZFBK6DGR),3.2GHz,125W,rev.E0,SocketAM3,6-Core can work with the motherboard?

im planning also to change the video card to one of the ATI 5 series.


what do you think ?

What are you planning to use it for?
For gaming you might be better off with the Phenom II X4 965 BE which would be a lot less expensive in price.

mainly for gaming... comparing with current version AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ how much in % i will get if i change it to 6 cores or Phenom II X4 965 ?

isn,t the x6,s just like the x4 phenoms, with just a couple more cores., and otherwise everything is the same on the x4 and x6,s

Yes the only difference is the extra 2 cores but slightly higher L2 cache.The 6 core Phenom II X6 1090T is just too expensive (unless one needs it for certain applications).

To the OP sorry I didn't respond earlier.
Here are some benchmarks.The first 2 will show % in change between your Athlon 64 X2 6000+ and the 965BE & 1090T

Now look at the benchmarks (especially the gaming ones) between the 4 core 965BE and the 6 core 1090T

So for most gaming I would agree either the Phenom II X4 955 BE or the 965 BE (which is slightly faster) would be a better and less expensive choice (why waste money on something you will probably not need).The saving of money can go towards your graphics card instead.
