I had previously put together a pretty awesome sub $700 build in my opionion, but I waited too late and newegg emptied my cart :(  It took a lot of work to put the cart together so I didn't feel like scrounging around again. I decided to drop the budget down to $500 and put together something easy. I'll go ahead and post the first system I had put together before my cart got emptied out, then the second system. I'll like for someone to go ahead and revamp both price ranges so I can just pick one of them and go ahead and buy. And if there is any way someone could just send me their cart or something so I could quickly purchase it that would be great! My username and email for newegg is kurtcrosbie@gmail.com. Thanks!

All I have to say is that if you are really going to use Eyefinity for gaming it is impossible to build a rig for $500. Your starting price for a GPU is going to be $300 for HD5850 the HD57xx cards are not going to be powerful to utilize the technology over multiple screens at acceptable frame rate with newer games.

I was pretty satisfied running SoftTH with a 4850. Wouldnt the performance of a 5750 with Eyefinity be the same or better?

No.

Not at all.

HD5750 is going to perform a little better than HD4850. Eyefinity is playing on multiple monitors with the same picture stretched over the said monitors at high resolution as you were using one monitor.

I was running the 4850 on 3 monitors...

SoTH = Soft Triple Head, 1 4850 running a single flat surface display at native resolutions.

a 5770 will do that job better than a 4850. with DX11 support.

tho 5850 or 5770 CF is far more desirable
