Just about to build a rig and bought an antec 300. I know 1 5870 will fit in a 300, question is will 2?
I plan to run 2 5870's in the future when the 2nd 5870 is less then $100. As far as hard drives go, I plan to only run 2, 1 a 600gb raptor and a 2TB drive.

If one fits then definitely two will.. Your motherboard should have the provision that's it.. You should be more worried on cooling two 5870's inside the 300.. Its a very good case no doubt but for two 5870's i'd say the antec 902 should be the case..

well frys had a $15 rebate for an antec 300 @$49. So microcenter price matched without having to mail a rebate in.
$35. for an antec 300.

i USED to have an antec 900 with a 600w psu, but ended up selling it because it just sat in my closet at home for 2.5 years (was in the military).
Now im 100% building a rig and buying parts as i see them for a much lower price (finding deals).

hmm if cooling might be an issue, i might look into water cooling. i know it sounds crazy but one of the reasons i sold the 900 was the size and id much rather have a smaller case. the 900 was huge and the 1200 is just out of the question. i dont plan to spend more then $1.5k on my rig, if i keep finding good deals who knows maybe i can just spend 1k.

btw heres a I7 930 for $200:

Its going to severely limit your hard drive placement, amount. The 5870 is literally going to touch/fit the cages. If there is a hd opposing, its not going to work.
