Hello, i am getting a new hp AMD computer.. its 650$ with AMD Anthion 11 x4 635 2.9 GHZ.. Do you think I should upgrade to a AMD Phenom x4 830 2.8 GHZ for the newer games... i will probally be multitasking too. Give me your opinion

I believe the only real difference between the two is the cache size, which generally won't make a huge difference in games. So the Phenom II would probably be a little faster but I'd expect maybe 10-20% at most.

+1 for irrelevant title.. As for answering the query, both are quad cores and around the same clock speed.. Architecture wise also there are no significant differences.. Hence will perform more or less the same.. You will not loose anything keeping the Athlon II X4 635..

It's better to buy the parts and build it yourself, it's easy. For games the video card matters the most.
