on one of my rigs, i still run a socket 939 amd 64 4200 (2.2ghz)........i went on ebay,, and they still get a good price for this cpu, and i just wonder why is this old cpu getting a decent price yet as old as it is????

i was thinking of upgrading this with something in the amd line, that would significantlly increase my speed, but cheap.....any suggestions???

would this cpu be a lot faster than the socket 939 4200-

i know the x2 7850 will need new motherboard, video card....would there be a big significance in performance vs the 939 i have?

If you're buying a new mobo, then better get a AM3 mobo and an Athlon X2 2xx.

+1. 939 uses DDR, AM2(+) uses DDR2. If you are buying a new M/B anyway why are you buying into obsolete tech? Go AM3 and you options will open up dramatically.
