I feel so dumb but I can't find this frigging OC genie button! It's not mentioned anywhere in the manual, except the large shining OC Genie sticky tag on the motherboard.

I enabled OC Genie in both BIOS and the Control Center software, but my i5 2500k is still 3400Mhz. Of course I can manually OC by setting the frequency to 42, but I still want to try the OC Genie thing. Thanks much!

Welcome to Tom's Forums! :)

P67A-C43 http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P67A-C43.html#/?div=Overview

"Just press the OC Genie button or enable OC Genie II function in BIOS menu"

It's 'Function' is in the BIOS -- just set the CPU Ratio to 42 if 4.2GHz is the goal, and IF needed increase the CPU voltage to 1.25v from the 1.20v stock.

In either case always run Prime95 and monitor the Temps.

And yes, duh the OC Genie does the same -- it a psychological thing only.

Good Luck!

Thanks! Yes I finally chose to adjust the freq manually instead of looking for the shining button. I noticed the P67A C45 on newegg does show the lovely button, but oh well.
