Hello,
How do I boost my PC's speed (thats free). I just went from a 8800 ultra (which *** the bed) to a HD 4870 that on every benchmark I saw placed higher than the 8800 ultra, but now even after I deleted all the old Nvidia software, it runs s*****r. I have updated drivers as well.

More about : boosting

deleted??
You must uninstall it, not deleted it...
Use program called DriverSweeper:

make sure you get rid all of your previous nvidia driver...

What about the other specs? CPU? RAM? Monitor? PSU? Motherboard?

yeah thats the program I used to delete the files ;)  Im running a Intel Core duo e6850 CPU (3gig), 3 gigs of corsair ram. Not sure the ddr type. Monitor is a LG Flatron L226WTQ. Mother board is a p5ne-sli as far as the PSU all I know is its like a 750 watt or more. Was a quality PSU when I bought it. Sry, im kinda of a newb. I usually have my uncle do my PC stuff, but hes been busy

I play modern warfare 2 alot, Command and Conquer 4 and such. On my 8800 ultra I could tab between windows and my game and it would be instant, now it halts for like 6 seconds. Even my web browsing is chuggy and slow. Never was before. All the research I did before I bought the card said it was better than the 880 ultra 758mb on benchmarks, but im not getting any better results, I'll reboot and check my 2 6pin connectors. Ive checked driver sweeper again and it has no nvidia components

well, there's must be something's wrong with your card...
have another computer with decent PSU? you can try your card there to make sure whether the card is bad or not...
Yes, you are right, HD4870 supposedly run better than 8800.
Reseated sticks of RAM?

All secure, I just did a mark06 benchmarks and my CPU is what did the worst. I have a hard time believing the vid card started s******g the bed once I put in the new vid card tho, cuz even while the other vid card was progressively getting worse, it still ran mozilla firefox alot better.
