Boot Device and Freezing

Hello everyone,

I have the following:
Asus Sabbertooth P67
Intel i5-2500k LGA 1155
G.Skill Ripjaw DDR3-11600 4GB x2

I literally just finished putting these parts together this morning and I'm currently trying to get the operating system on it (Windows 7 64-bit). I'm using my old hard drive (Western Digital 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0) and DVD drive.

The system will turn on fine and it'll cycle through all of the POST LEDs. I can get to the BIOs and I've changed the boot priority to the DVD drive to allow for Windows 7 to install.

The issue is that it will always freeze. It's at random places but for the most part once it's reading the DVD that's freezing time. I JUST got to the installation screen on my last attempt but it froze after I started the install process. Sometimes it'll even freeze while I'm in the BIOS.

Note: Everytime it freezes the BOOT Device LED lights up on the motherboard.

Please help!

  1. What speed RAM do you have? 11600????
Did you bring any other parts over from your old system? Like the Power supply? What are the PSU's specs?
Which slot did you put your GPU in?
Are you getting any beep codes from the speaker - hopefully you have one; they helpat times like this.
