At a recommended price of $279, it is but slightly cheaper than the Radeon HD 5850 but has a lower performance, comparable to that of the GeForce GTX 275. We guess a potential buyer is more likely to add $20 to buy the more expensive product from AMD instead of the new card from Nvidia.

Aside from DX11 capability, I just don't understand why GPU makers insist on introducing "New" models that perform equally to "Old" models. In my mind, all new products should really outperform the last generation products.

But I'm sure a lot of folks would still rather have an "entry level" DX11 option in the new line-up.

They have the new hex core AMD cpu's in a nice config, one has the 5450, 5870.
