Hello,

I keep getting this balloon message popping up
"You just unplugged a device from the audio jack"

My sound keeps going and when I test the sound in "play back devices" it doesn't work, but then 5 minutes later it will work, but then it wont a few seconds later. The sound stops when playing games and listenng to itunes. Even the windows start up sounds didn't make a sound when I turned the PC on.

Cam someone please help me? This is driving me crazy and ruining my PC experience.

My PC:

Vista Home Premium 64Bit
Asrock x48 Turbotwins
E8500 3.16GHz Core 2 Duo
HD4870 Radion 1GB Graphics Card
4GB DDR3 Ram (using 2 Sticks out of three, so would be 6GB if i used all three).

Thanks :)

It's almost certainly onboard sound, acer.

je, make sure you have the motherboard chipset drivers loaded. Make sure the audio is properly configured. Is the proper audio connector (AC'97 or HDA) plugged into the motherboard?

Then unplug the front panel audio connector from the motherboard and reinstall it.

If that doesn't help, unplug the front panel audio connector from the motherboard. Plug your devices into the audio jacks on the back panel of the motherboard. If the problem repeats, it's probably the motherboard. Otherwise, the problem may be the front panel wiring.
