My dvd drive is not reading blank dvds but reading cds

my DVD drive has stopped recognizing blank DVDs but it is able to read DVD which ave some data and it recognize blank CD's too
can you please give me a solution

Try running a DVD lens cleaner on the device.

Make sure you have up to date anti-virus / anti-malware software installed on your PC and that it's definitions are fully up to date.

If this is WinXP, try disabling the IMAPI cd burning service.

(right click computer -> manage -> services -> services -> right click imapi cd burning service -> properties -> disable -> apply & ok)
