I am having trouble choosing between these two processors for my brothers budget gaming computer. He will probably only play CS: Source, but I want it to be able to play most modern games at medium-high settings just in case.
The prices are the same for both, but the 5000+ can go on my Newegg preferred account, so that would be nice if the performance difference was not significant. The 5000+ also has 65w vs 95w, which may be important considering I am going to buy the cheapest possible HSF, and a lot of the ones I see in the $10 price range say they only support up to 2.4GHz.
This CPU is to go into a M2N-SLI with 1000MHz FSB, therefore I believe the 3600MHz of the 7550 may be a waste. The only way I will go for the 7550 is if there is a significant performance increase. Thanks you for your input!
And please lets not forget to account for the *.1GHz*
