I am trying to help my friends son build a good budget gaming rig to play Crisis, Far Cry, etc.

I found these on sale. What do you think?

- I just missed the sale on the sale on AMD Phenom II X4 940 for $99. Darn! That was sweet. Any other suggestions?

-ASUS ENGT240/DI/1GD3/A GeForce GT 240 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card $44.99 after rebate. If it's good, then I gotta grab it now! Let me know what you think.

Not sure of a good mobo, except: MSI 790XT-G45 $89

Don’t know which ram to use or PS or case.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Thanks!

Wow. Looks pretty sweet. Thanks!

I've never heard of Powercolor before, but the price is good.

Another nice build from Batuchka.
That's a really tight budget to play those particular games. A GT240 would have probably required some low settings to be playable; "low," not "lowered." Tell your son's friend to check the benchmarks and decide if he wants to wait until he can afford an even better GPU like a HD5850 or HD5870.
