SSD system drive and SRT

Hi all,

I'm curious about partitioning my 90GB SSD to store Win7 on one partition and Intel SRT caching on the other partition; I also have a 250GB HDD.

I've read the threads on this forum and have found evidence to support that this set up is possible; this question is: is it beneficial? The consensus here seems to be that I'd be better off using my entire SSD for Win7 and essential apps instead of reserving part of it for caching. The issue is that I have many GBs worth of games - far more than can fit on the SSD - and it seems like caching might help to reduce load times to ALL of these games, not just the 1 or 2 that I could fit on the SSD.

So, (1) are there drawbacks to setting the SATA controller to RAID instead of AHCI? What are they? And (2) would partitioning the SSD for Intel SRT caching actually reduce load times of games on a storage HDD?
