I recently purchased a 5770 as an upgrade from my 4670 and I'm a bit disappointed.
While running assassins creed 2 either on high detail or low detail, 1920x1080 or 640x480 it still dropped to 15-25 FPS when I was looking at a large section of the city. High res textures were also extremely slow to load while traveling through the city.
I've updated the video drivers and I'm still having the same problem.
Specs:
MOBO: Intel G43
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341022&cm_re=fatal1ty-_-17-341-022-_-Product
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150462&cm_re=5770-_-14-150-462-_-Product
RAM: 8GB of generic DDR2
HDD: generic 7200 rpm
Processor: Q8300
OS: Win7 64bit
(Is there a bottleneck somewhere?)
EDIT: Here's a comparison from my old 4670 to my 5770. There is hardly any difference.
