Heres the link to my mobo. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01...

I was wondering if this is a socket AM2+ mobo??? I see on the "processor upgrade info" tab that it says socket AM2+ but is that the mobo or are they referring to the processor type the mobo will only support? I'm asking because I would like to get this cpu http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/ite...

I already know that a bios update might be needed but I have searched this on other forums and it is confirmed the 945 version of this cpu is running fine. I'm so confused at this point its like "is my mobo socket am2 or what". I really like the 975 linked above and don't want to settle for anything less. If anyone could help that be appreciated!!!

The CPU you are looking at will not work in your MB. HP has not made a BIOS update for it, and, technically, the board supports only a maximum of a 89 watt CPU - forget the literature saying 95 watt. The board is not really an Asus board, it's a HP board that Asus makes.
Will it fit? Yes, AMD made their sockets compatible, but your new CPU will likely run at a slower speed.
Forget it.

The new CPU wil be forced to run at 800Mhz (if it even works), it would be a downgrade over whatever you have.
