Why my MB doesn't have ddr3 1333 option?

Hi guys. I have Asus p5p43td mainboard with intel core 2 quad q6700 and 2x4gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz.

Now I cannot set memory speed above 1066 (although mobo supports up to 1600 according to asus)

Please look at these and tell me what to do

(I tried setting 1600 but it wont boot, gives me massage at the post: overclocking failed 1.go to bios 2.restore defaults)

So, ok I don't have to go for 1600, but i want at least 1333...

Try changing manually the timings to the ones of your RAM.

9-9-9-24 if this is your RAM

Then go 1333. For 1600 you need to overclock the RAM and it's no difference anyway.

the ram is almost the same (only black), but the timings are same..

The problem is that 1333 does not appear (before nor after changing the timings) only 1066 and 1600 and 1800:

What voltage is your RAM and have you tried manually changing the MB voltage to match the rated RAM voltage?

I have the same problem. And sorry guys, I am a total NOOB. Please don't flame war me and tell me I didn't try and use google.

Because I did, and I came to this forums because it's one of the results.


I'm using 2 corsair value 1333 4gb ram sticks and I am only seeing 1066.

I don't want to overclock but I want to get what they said it would have when I bought it.
