Hi,

I have a question about my Pc motherboard(Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7). I am thinking to buy the new SSD OCZ Vertex 3 Sata-3 and I am wondering if it actually support this kind of disks. On the manual it says that it's support Sata-3 but I want to be 100% sure before buying.

Do I have to update my bios in order to get the maximum performance from this disk? My present bios is 1 year and a half old. Generally what are the main things I have to do in order to have the maximum performance from my pc hardware components(installation,updates,bios...)?

Thanks

The GA-X58A-UD7 supports SATA3. Your SSD will work fine.
I would update the BIOS to F7 (I would do the F8M because I don't mind beta, but that's me...). You need not do anything else to your HW to get performance.

Piece of cake; Download the latest @BIOS, install it. Download the BIOS you want, save it to the Desktop, extract, open @BIOS and point it at the file.
And for safety sake, don't do it during a thunderstorm when you might lose power.:)
