When i try to copy data from my WD 320GB HDD to my Intel 320 series 120GB SSD. The WD has 78GBS on it and the formated compacity of the SSD is 111GBs. Any Idea why this isn't working?
Don't use any sort of cloning software to migrate data from an HDD to an SSD. The low level layout is very different. To safely copy data from an HDD to an SSD in Windows you must copy and paste the necessary files
Its not recognizing my drive when im installing windows.
You may need to install special drivers to enable the installer to read the storage device. Make sure that the SSD is attached to the Intel storage device and not an add-in storage controller. Consult your motherboard manual to find out which is which
You should not need extra drivers for that board. Make sure that the SSD is plugged into one of the Intel SATA3 ports and not the add-in ASMedia storage controller which is not part of the chipset. The ASMedia ports are usually the bottommost ports
didn't realize it was just you. Whenever I try to copy and paste my data it says that I dont have premission to access the data.
You will have to take ownership of it, there's a lot of easy to follow guides on how to do this. That data belongs to the user on the other installation. It may have the same name as the user on your new installation but the ID will be different
