trying to "share" files" and printers between "wired" dektop and wireless laptop. Laptop connected wirelessly with desktop modem. Connection to internet perfect. but have not been able to "share' folders. usinge Verizon DSL Westell VersaLink 7500 Gateway . DEsktop is Windows XP - laptop is Vista home premium.

Are both firewalls set to allow sharing? You need to start with sharing the C:\ drives, accepting the warning as you go.

I'm not familiar with Kasperky's firewall settings but Windows systems have a Wizard that helps a lot with File and Printer Sharing so if you run that in both machines, it should alter the firewalls accordingly. On each drive, right click it and go to Sharing and Security to name it and allow othe rNetwork users to make changes to files.[/#000ff]
