We have a one year old Northgate 8060 laptop. And starting about two
months ago the CD-ROM started to error out when burning, then started
to fail in reading CD's, and before long, stopped being recognized
altogether.
We sent it in for warrantee work, and when it came back all seemed
fine.
Now it's doing it again.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem?
It's now past warrantee, but we need to get the CD working again...is
it possible to get just a CD-ROM that would work with this laptop and
replace it?
What kinds of things can be done with a laptop? If it were a PC, I
could do a lot of things to troubleshoot the hardware...but I have no
idea on laptops.
