ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
TV is in different room about 30 feet away. I would like to play what ever is on the computer on the TV, with the monitor off. Would run 1 HDMI cable for video and sound to TV,
and have the monitor hooked up with a DVI cable. Can I even switch the computer to a higher resolution that the TV can support but the monitor can not support with the computer
and graphic card hooked up to both, with the intent of powering off the monitor while watching it on the TV?

Will go 64 bit windows 7 at some point.

Look for an HD5450. It's the best non-gaming card at the moment, as it comes with all the features of the latest technology. If there's a small chance you will end up gaming for some time, an HD5670 is a powerful budget card.
