Hey guys,

I'm currently doing a build for gaming and can't decide between ati or nvidia. The cards I'm looking at are the ati 5xxx series and nvidia cards like the gts 250. So basically around $150 is my goal spending.

As far as my build......Phenom II x4 955 be, 4 gigs ddr3, 600 watt PSU, and a 22" 1080p LCD. I will OC the cpu a bit but nothing extreme. I'll be playing games like half the time, the other half downloading music and cruising the web. You know, typical usage. No video editing or anything.

My main thing is I want the best GPU for the money. I've looked at specs and nothing seems to be cut and dry for me. I need help. Should I go with the red team or go green?

Ok, so the numbers weren't lying then? Lol. Well, HD5770 here I come I guess. If I may, what is your current set up?

Twin 250's are the best deal in your price range ($180 for twin 250's w/ 4 free games) but it doesn't look like your MoBo will do SLI

Twin 4850's would run ya $190

Otherwise I'd go w/ this:

Consider however that the 5770 is underpowered for today's DX11 games .... the general consensus is that the entry point for DX11 gaming at 1920 x 1200 and hi settings is the 5850 ($310), with the 470 ($350) being it's main competition.

But my res for my 22" lcd is 1920x1080, not 1920x1200. As long as I can play at mostly high settings, I'd be happy. Could a 5770 handle high settings in recent games? Also, the mobo I'll be using will be Xfire compatible so I can buy a 5770 later down the road when they're way more affordable than now. Right now my build is running me right about $1000 with monitor and OS.
