Canon G3 LCD not turning on

Hi,

I have had a G3 for one and a half year and haven't had any problem
with it. Lately, when I turn on the camera and open the LCD screen
(rotating it 180 degrees), it does not turn on. Even if I press the
button to turn it on, it does not. The truth is that it is a in
intermitent problem. sometimes works fine and sometimes not.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Is there any solution besides
sending the camera to repair?
