Hello,
Currently thinkig of upgrading the Laptop to a SSD to give it more Pep. The interface is listed as Ultra ATA but the interfaces I see don't clearly list them as a replacement for a Ultra ATA. What am I missing or do they just not have a replacement for the specific interface?

Ultra ATA is a version of IDE which does not support SATA. There is an adapter available but you would not be able to take advantage of the SSD speed even with an adapter. Considering you are talking about a laptop I doubt you would even be able to use an adapter. If the specs I read are correct it shipped with a 4200 rpm, 80 GB drive. You could upgrade to a 5400 rpm drive which should add a little pep.
