FYI... this is in a HP DC7600 CMT currently running a Pentium 4 640 3.2Ghz CPU... it has a Socket PLGA775, Intel 945G/GZ chipset, 82801GB(ICH7/R) Controller & 82945G Memory Controller......

It seems that the Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz E6700 (& others) with a 1066 FSB list compatibility with the 945G/GZ chipset... would they be faster than the Pentium D 960 3.6Ghz??

F.Y.I. After updating the Bios to V. 01.61, I bought a Pentium D 950 3.4Ghz on eBay and put it in. It works great... good for 35%-45% increase across the board on PT7!
