The answer is probably found in tweaking your BIOS settings. You need a certain knowledge to achieve this.

I would recommend that you leave your RAM at 1333 mhz for stability reasons. You will not gain one shred of performance in 99.9 % of your computing tasks by pushing the RAM to 1600 MHZ.

Welcome to Tom's Forum :)

http://us.msi.com/index.php?func=prodmbspec&maincat_no=1&cat2_no=&cat3_no=&prod_no=2019#menu DDR3 800/1066/1333/1600*(OC)

You'll need to OC the FSB, so are you okay with doing this?

Adjust CPU FSB Frequency -> 240
Adjust FSB/DRAM Ratio so that your DDR3 is 1600 MHz
Memory-Z /Enter
enter the correct Timings; I assume they're 9-9-9-24-2T
1T/2T Memory Timing -> 2T
DRAM Voltage (V) -> Spec ; I assume 1.65v

If you don't want to OC the CPU then you need to Adjust CPU Ratio
200 X 16 = 3200 or 3.20GHz ; Stock
240 X 16 = 3840 or 3.84GHz
240 X 14 = 3360 or 3.36GHz
240 X 13 = 3120 or 3.12GHz

well TY i am going to try to tweek it a bit and will report the findings. i do have 1333 but i just got the 1600 so it is good to know that i dont have to return it cause frys is the worst place to do returns. :bounce:

The difference is 1%~3%, and if the 'SPD' offers a lower CAS at 1333 MHz then 1%.

Example - Use CPUz -> http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
1600 9-9-9-24-2T 'Rated'
1333 8-8-8-24-2T 'SPD'

Look at this tab:
