Hello,
I decided to build a pc a couple months last June and completed my build last July, which consisted of a biostar ta890gxb hd, 2x2 GB crucial ddr3 ram, an athloniix4 630 cpu, and an ocz modxstream pro 500w psu. I also bought a lg super multidrive and a seagate 7200rpm hard drive. Well my problems started occuring maybe 2-3 months after I built this. I was getting blue screen errors, cmos checksums bad, and random freezing and rebooting. After this I decided to RMA the mb in september and received it back about 2 weeks later. But then it worked for about 2 days and all the problems began again. The RMA return said they reflashed the bios but that didn't help at all. I then tested the ram, hdd, and disc drive in my friend's new build and they worked fine in his pc for the month we tested them in there for. I rma'd the mb again earlier this year and they sent the same one back even though I specifically asked them to replace it with a new one. The RMA then said repaired in the return letter but it still is giving me problems of random freezing and errors, restarts etc. I tried the ram individually and in different slots in the mb it seems like the pc doesn't boot when it's in the far left slot and if 2 rams are next to each other in dual channel. I have now rma'd the psu and am going to send it in next week even though I still think the problem is the mb but there's no way to be sure. Should I just cut my losses and get a different motherboard and if I do this is there any good mb's under $99 w/tax (what I payed for the Biostar last year...) preferrably $60 or less that works with am3 and has as least 2 ddr3 slots that support 4 GB or more in total (Biostar's had 4 slots...) I may also need to get a video card after this since I've been using the onboard video of the 890GXBHD... so a video card under $100 preferrably but might spend more for something nice. Thanks to all that respond!
