Motherboard Upgrade - Need Help

hello guys , im currently using this gaming rig :
Motherboard: Asus P6X58 D-E
Processor: Core i7 960
Graphics Card :Asus Gtx 470
Ram: Twinmos 1333 8gbs (2x4)
PSU : FSP group Everest 800watts 80plus certified

what i wanna do is change my CPU to the exterme 990x edition and im gona need a motherboard which could support a hexa core gulftown processor ...
question : 1-is my current motherboard good enough for this ?
2-if not , is the asus Rampage 3 Extreme a valuable choice ?

just would like to state here that money isnt really an issue im just thinking about getting the best for my gaming rig .

Yes, your MB will support the 990x, you may have to upgrade the BIOS.
Surely others here will feel differently; your question leaves lots of variables, but:

if you are willing to spend that much money, why not wait until the 2011 pin boards come out in a few months with four or six cores (8 core/16 threads coming). Hyperthreading. 40 PCIe Gen 3 lanes, which allows three-way SLI without PCIe bridge chips. Quad-channel RAM up to DDR3-1600 speeds. 15MB of L3 cache. OC Extreme.

2011 will put LGA1366 to shame.
